Maldives
The Maldives, made up of 1,200 unique islands which are grouped into atolls and protected by surrounding coral reefs, is located approximately 500 kilometres off the southern coast of Sri Lanka.

The main religion is Muslim and the local language is Dhivehi, with the Rufiyaa being the local currency, although all prices and transactions in the tourist islands are in United States dollars.
When you first arrive in the Maldives, be prepared for your first sight…this is tropical island life Robinson Crusoe style! The airport lies on its own island approximately 1 ½ kilometres from the capital of Malé, and is home to almost 80,000 of the 250,000 population.
When you arrive at your island, the order of the day is total relaxation with coconut palms, warm Indian Ocean waters, coral reefs and sun-drenched white sand beaches all assisting in getting you into the right frame of mind!. As most of the islands comprise of just one hotel, nightlife is not hectic.

We would strongly advise you upgrade to the unique ‘Water Bungalows’ irrespective of the resort you choose, as this is a truly memorable and wonderful experience. Wake up each morning to the sound of the waves and start your day by a dip in the warm waters surrounding your bungalow.
For those seeking some action, consider a deep sea fishing trip with the chance to catch the mighty sailfish or blue marlin.
