Days of Operation: Friday for Sarova Lodge, Wednesday for Simba Lodge.

Travelling north from Nairobi through the lush farming communities from Thika to Nyeri, the landscape drops away to the west into the Great Rift Valley, creating a dramatic back-drop to the journey. The bird-watching and views around Mt Kenya and the lakes are spectacular, while the big-game in Masai Mara is unforgettable

DAY 1 NAIROBI

On arrival, meet and greet and transfer to your hotel. (NM)

DAY 2 NAIROBI - SAMBURU GAME RESERVE

After breakfast, travel north near Thika and Karatina, with its colourful market. Turn off and head for Mountain Lodge for lunch. This is a tree lodge set in a forest glade with a waterhole that attracts wildlife during the day and night. The waterhole is floodlit with an underground viewing platform. Overnight at your chosen Lodge. (B,L,D)

DAY 3 MOUNT KENYA – LAKE NAKURU

After breakfast, head north west as for Nyahururu, known as Thomson's Falls for its 237 foot cascade. Travel in a southerly direction to the spectacular Lake Nakuru. Once in the park, enjoy a game drive en route to the lodge. Following lunch, there is an afternoon game drive returning to the lodge as the sun sets. Overnight at your chosen Lodge. (B,L,D)

DAY 4 LAKE NAKURA – MASAI MARA

After breakfast, head for Njoro town, where you begin your ascent up over the top of the Mau Escarpment. Then, travel towards the Masai Mara. Travel across the ‘breadbasket’ of Kenya, before reaching the Mara in time for lunch. Following lunch, enjoy an afternoon game drive, returning to the lodge as the sun sets. Overnight at your chosen Lodge. (B,L,D)

DAY 5 MASAI MARA GAME RESERVE

Early morning and afternoon game drives. Overnight at your chosen Lodge. (B,L,D)

DAY 6 MASAI MARA GAME RESERVE - NAIROBI

After breakfast, depart the Masai Mara and head across acres of rolling wheat and barley farms to Narok. From here cross the vast plains on the floor of the Rift Valley before heading up the rift escarpment. Arrive into Nairobi around mid-day and drop off at the airport or city centre hotel.
